Recently, many official documents were seized in the FBI raid at the Mar-a-Lago house of former US President Donald Trump. Federal Judge Aileen Cannon has stayed the review of these documents. She said that a review of the material seized by the Justice Department would threaten the institution and there is a risk of it being leaked to the media, which could put Trump at risk.

US District Court Judge Aileen Cannon wrote in her 24-page ruling that “Plaintiff faces an unquantifiable potential harm by way of improper disclosure of sensitive information to the public”.

Canon orders a special master should be appointed to review the seized document. For this, the Justice Department and Trump’s lawyers have been given time till September 9. Cannon has also said that these documents will not be returned to Trump.

The federal judge’s order is being seen as an attempt to protect Trump. People on social media say that because Aileen Cannon was appointed by Trump, she should have avoided giving such an order. Although some people say that every judge is appointed by someone or the other, in such a situation how justified it is to separate oneself from the case.

But in the US, She’s a Trump judge is trending on Twitter. People say that this is clearly an attempt to save Trump.

Who is Aileen Cannon?

Aileen Cannon is a judge on the United States District Court in the Southern District of Florida. She was nominated by President Donald Trump on 21 May 2020.

Cannon was born in 1981 in Cali, Colombia. Cannon earned a BA degree from Duke University in 2003 and a JD magna cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007. She was also associate editor of the Journal of Law Reforms at the University of Michigan.

Before becoming a Florida District Court judge in 2020, she was an Assistant U.S. attorney, U.S. The Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Florida

Why is this matter so political?

In fact, Donald Trump is one of the possible candidates for the presidency in 2024. The Democratic Party wants to prevent him from being a part of this campaign at any cost. He is facing serious charges in the case of the Capitol Hill Riot and stealing official documents. If Donald Trump is found guilty in the case of criminal investigation in the Capital Riot case and stealing official documents, then he can be charged with treason and he can go to jail.

In such a situation, Donald Trump is seen using all his powers. Judge Cannon’s order indicates that she may be trying to protect Trump. Because if she wanted, she could distance herself from this matter.

While it is absolutely true that a judge cannot be stopped from doing her/his job, this matter is very political.
