Rs 38 will be deducted from the salary of railway employees for Tiranga

Railways will deduct Rs 38 from the salary of employees to purchase Tiranga. Many union workers are angry with this, they say that railway employees are patriots, and they will buy the flag with their own money. The decision to deduct money from salary seems like a forced move. It looks like a dictatorship in a democratic country. Union leaders have strongly opposed this.

Tiranga for Railway Employees

The Modi government has made a plan to install the tricolor in every house to commemorate 75 years of independence from August 13 to 15. During this, railway personnel also have to hoist the tricolor at their homes. This tricolor will be given to the employees by the Indian Railways, but after deducting money from their salary. Railways will buy these flags from a private company. The cost of this flag has been kept at Rs 38.

The tricolor is to be purchased from the Staff Benefit Fund, the money deducted from the salary of the employees has to go to this fund.

Divisional Minister of North Central Railway Employees Union Chandan Singh told Dainik Jagran that the railway workers themselves are patriots and will themselves buy the tricolor with their own money. This rule should not be imposed on them. Zonal General Secretary RP Singh said that the flag should be purchased from the Staff Benefit Fund but money should not be deducted from the salary.

People on Twitter express different views on this move

Dictate of a dictator, defence personnel are no different. This time it is TIRANGA but it takes many forms Cyclone funds, Covid etc list is long. I put my life on the line & he dictates what part of my family’s hard earned money he is going to deduct to shine his political image.

@rightvsrong

Credited to the private companies making these Indian Flags.. What if the employees want to buy it from street vendor for Rs 20?? Deshbhakti ke naam par firse PM cares fund wala khel.

@aniimeshsingh

What if someone wants to buy it from a neighborhood shop by himself? Unfair. This is like Private schools where you have to buy books and uniform from this particular store only.
