Earthquake tremors were felt in Dhanbad, Jharkhand late on Sunday night. It is being told that the tremors were felt at 1:32 pm. After which people came out of the house. After being outside for about half an hour, seeing the situation normal, people went to the house. While many people were in deep sleep at this time. Due to which very few people felt the tremors of the earthquake.

According to Volcano Discovery unverified early report of ground shaking possibly caused by seismic activity in or India on 9 Jan 2022 (GMT) at approximately 20:01. The location, magnitude and time mentioned are indicative, based on our best-fit seismic model.

People told that the tremors of the earthquake were felt only for 5 to 6 seconds. After which many people of Dhanbad gave this information on social media. People are putting DP on their Facebook and WhatsApp status regarding the earthquake. According to the people, along with Dhanbad city, tremors were felt in Jharia, Saraidhela, Bartand, Dhaiya, Pradhankhanta, Balliapur, Nirsa etc.

People came out of the apartments in areas like Bankmor, Saraidhela etc. After two o’clock, when people felt that the situation is normal, then everyone went inside their homes. There is no report of any damage due to the night quake.
