An ex-boyfriend in Australia kidnapped and buried alive an Indian nursing student Jasmeen Kaur in an act of revenge after their relationship ended. The shocking details emerged during the court hearing on Wednesday, where Tarikjot Singh pleaded guilty to the murder of Jasmeen Kaur from the city of Adelaide in March 2021.
Reports reveal that 21-year-old Kaur was abducted from her workplace by Singh on March 5, 2021. Singh drove for more than 650 km with Kaur restrained by zip ties in the trunk of the borrowed car.
During this ordeal, Singh inflicted superficial cuts on Kaur’s throat, deliberately prolonging her suffering. He subsequently buried her alive in a shallow grave in a remote area known as the Flinders Ranges in South Australia.
Prosecutor Carmen Matteo depicted the murder as unbearably vicious, emphasizing Kaur’s conscious anguish and the immense terror she endured. Matteo revealed that Kaur faced the unthinkable horror of inhaling and swallowing dirt as she was buried alive, inflicting immeasurable suffering. Furthermore, it is speculated that she remained aware of her surroundings until her fateful demise on March 6.
Matteo expressed shock at the level of cruelty involved in this act of violence, attributing it to revenge. The exact timeline of the crime, including the slitting of Kaur’s throat and her placement in the grave, remains unclear. However, the prosecution claims that these actions occurred while she was still alive, as Singh meticulously prepared for her burial.
