Ground Report | New Delhi: Sonal Mehrotra NDTV; The NDTV news anchor Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor has left the NDTV news network after almost 12 years last month and joined Network18. She is a renowned NDTV presenter. She was associated with the brand since 2010. She is known for her pioneering reporting on various topics in the country. Notably, she was the top nominee at the Asian Television Awards in Singapore for her rigorous coverage of the Nirbhaya case.

Sonal Mehrotra Kapoor is an Award-winning Journalist. She was the creator of – FYI and Coffee and Crypto – the two most popular shows on NDTV where online informs on-air.

As per her LinkedIn bio, “I’ve curated this multi-platform storytelling after 10 strong years of on-ground daily reporting – covering the biggest stories in national and state politics, elections, gender and women’s safety and health”. “It was the December 16, 2012 gang rape case that marked the start of my journalism career. I extensively covered the developments of this horrific event, which also landed me the NT Young Journalist of the Year award. This entrenched my journalism in everyday human issues”.

In 2016, she was honoured with the Dr QH Khan Award of Excellence for her commitment to journalism at an event held in the Abul Fazal enclave. In 2017, Sonal has been dedicated to her journalistic career for about 7 years and has gained a lot from her. For her pioneering work throughout her career, she was chosen among the 10 women to receive the Dr Kalam award at the Jamia Nagar event.
