Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be visiting Bhopal on September 25th to attend the BJP’s Maha Kumbh. As a result, there will be route diversions in place. Private schools located near the Jamboree Ground will be closed, while government schools will operate as usual. Parents have been notified about the rescheduling of the half-yearly school exams through SMS and WhatsApp. According to DB Digital’s report, St. Xavier School spokesperson, Vasundhara Sharma, mentioned that the main event with the Prime Minister will be held around St. Xavier School, making it extremely challenging to keep the school open. Additionally, Chaitanya Saxena, principal of LNCT School, pointed out that students from various areas of the city would face transportation difficulties due to the expected traffic. Hence, the decision to declare a holiday.
Although the Education Department has not formally announced any holidays, the school administration has chosen to shut down for a day because of the need for route diversion and heavy traffic. The DEO Anjani Kumar has confirmed that no directive has been issued to close schools. Furthermore, St. Xavier School, IES School, and LNCT School have also decided to close. There is a strong possibility that the markets in Mandi and Bhel area will remain closed. However, if the administration releases a protocol order, the markets might be closed accordingly.
Routes to the Venue
- Vehicles routing from Indore, Ujjain, Gwalior, Rewa, Sagar, Rajgarh, and Shehdol will divert to Khajuri Road, Mubarakpur, Patel Nagar, Anand Nagar, Lama Khera, and Chopra Kalan.
- Vehicles coming from Hoshangabad and Jabalpur will divert to 11 Mill, AIIMS, and Barkheda Pathani at the back of St. Xavier School.
- In case of rainfall, vehicles will park at Piplani Petrol Pump Tiraha, NCC Ground, and ITI Tiraha Road. Subsequently, VIPs and media persons will park their vehicles at Govindpura turning to Mahatma Gandhi Square to Ayapaa Temple, and in front of St. Xavier School.
