GRP Station (Aligarh Junction) Officer Subodh Yadav added: “On the basis of the complaint received from the family of the dead passenger, an FIR was registered against unknown railway workers for negligence. The case was registered in the IPC section 304-A (causing wrongful death). Primary investigation revealed that road-related work was performed in the area where the incident occurred.”

The sources said that some work was being carried out on the tracks when the incident occurred. However, so far no confirmation has been received from the Railways. The official said the body was turned over to the GRP and an investigation was launched.
