The northwestern parts of India are currently experiencing a severe cold wave, with no relief expected soon. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted heavy rain and snowfall in Kashmir over the next two days. Moreover, the IMD predicts harsh cold days for Uttar Pradesh, with dense fog conditions in the coming two days.
As per the IMD, regions including Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh are likely to witness light to moderate, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and snowfall from January 28 to February 3.
The IMD also cautions about isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall over Kashmir on January 30 and 31, and over Himachal Pradesh on January 31, 2024. It is advised that residents and travelers in these areas stay informed with local weather updates and take necessary safety measures.
Uttarakhand: Rain and Snow Forecast
From January 31 to February 2, 2024, Uttarakhand is anticipated to witness light to moderate isolated to scattered rainfall and snowfall. Similarly, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, and West Uttar Pradesh can expect light rainfall during this period.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts dense to very dense fog in various parts of Uttar Pradesh during the night and morning from January 28 to 30. Additionally, isolated pockets in Rajasthan are expected to experience similar fog conditions on January 29 and 30.
The forecast extends to Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh, where isolated pockets may encounter dense to very dense fog on January 28th and 29th, 2024.
In addition to the challenging weather conditions, Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions are likely to persist in some parts of Uttar Pradesh on January 28th, with isolated pockets experiencing these conditions on January 29th, 2024.
