Another officer who died was Georgy Dudorov, deputy commander of the reconnaissance company for military-political work of the 137th regiment of the 106th Tula Guards Airborne Division.
One report stated: “A column of his company was attacked with artillery by Ukrainian nationalist detachments and, coming face to face with danger, he honourably performed his military duty to the Fatherland, receiving mortal wounds.”
Another paratrooper intelligence officer killed was Aleksey Aleshko, a graduate of the prestigious Ryazan Guards Higher Airborne School.
The senior lieutenant died saving the lives of “hundreds of his comrades’ lives,” said Tula Governor Alexey Dyumin, a trusted former bodyguard of Putin who has been promoted to a political career.
The deaths coincide with early expressions of anger and dismay at the number of coffins now returning to Russia, despite the fact that those officially recognized as fallen in Ukraine are seen as a small fraction of the total number that best estimates now suggest. encounter ‘many thousands’.
Moscow has not given an updated total of the war dead and has named only a handful of those killed, including several generals. Many funerals currently visible in the media are for soldiers killed in late February.
