Heavy rainfall in Bhopal: A red alert was issued for heavy rain in 39 districts including Bhopal, and Sehore of Madhya Pradesh. People’s morning on Monday was accompanied by heavy rain and strong thunderstorms. It started raining from 2 o’clock at night, which is continuing for the last 8 hours. Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds impacts daily lives in many cities.
Heavy rainfall in Bhopal had led to utter chaos. A cruise was seen sinking at the Boat Club in Bhopal.
Electricity has been out for more than 8 hours. Trees fell due to heavy winds. The incessant rain has flooded many places. Many bridges and roads have been submerged. Traffic in the city has been severely affected. There are also reports of water entering the homes of people in low-lying settlements.
Heavy Rain in Sehore District
It’s raining continuously in Sehore city since 2 AM. Due to heavy rains, there is no electricity in the houses of the people. Brijesh Jain, who lives in Vaishali Nagar of Sehore, said that “it has been raining heavily since 2 AM. Which continues for the last 10 hours. There is no electricity in the house since night.
Due to heavy rains, the administration has declared high alert in 39 districts of Madhya Pradesh. A holiday has also been declared in schools for two days. Rain has disrupted normal life in Bhopal, Ujjain, Sehore, Jabalpur, Ratlam, Neemuch, and Mandsaur.
Due to heavy rains, the water of the Narmada river in the Dindori district has crossed the danger mark.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), a deep depression over northeast Madhya Pradesh is expected to move west-northwestwards across North MP and weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area today.
The administration has alerted the teams of NDRF and SDRF.
