Covid-19: Night curfew extended to all districts of Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu and Kashmir government extended the night curfew, to all Municipal and urban local body limits of all districts of the UT of Jammu and Kashmir.

The office of LG Jammu and Kashmir on its official Twitter handle said that the Corona Curfew at night shall be extended to all Municipal / urban local body limits of all 20 districts of #JammuAndKashmir. “It was already in force in eight districts earlier, from 10 pm to 6 am.”

“Public transport (matadors/mini-buses/buses etc.,) in J&K shall be permitted to ply only at 50% of its authorized seating capacity. The District Superintendents of Police shall ensure compliance to this effect,” it said in another Tweet.

It further said that only 50% shops in Market complexes/Bazaars/ Malls within the Municipal limits/urban local body limits shall be open on an alternate basis through a rotation system.

“District magistrates of all districts shall devise a mechanism to implement this, preferably in consultation with local market associations,” the LG office Tweeted.

However according to the Health Ministry, 2,59,170 new cases of corona infection were registered in the last 24 hours.

In the last one day, 1,761 more people died of infection.

Now the total number of positive cases has increased to 1,53,21,089 of which 20,31,977 are active cases.

The death toll has risen to 1,80,530. So far, more than 12 crore 71 lakh corona vaccines have been given.

Today’s figures are less than the infection data released on Monday morning. On Monday, 2,73,810 new cases were registered in the last 24 hours. However, the number of people who died in one day has increased.
