The streaming space has expanded multi-fold. There are numerous OTT platforms. One can barely count anymore. Although, the quality of shows still remains limited. In the first half of the year, great shows like HBO’s Succession, AppleTV+’s Ted Lasso, and Amazon Prime’s Marvelous Mrs Maisel all have come to an end of their incredible run.

The fans can’t help talking about these shows and their finales. And, the final season is very important. The greatest shows have failed in their final season.

HBO’s Succession

HBO recently clarified that there would not be any spin-off to their emmy-award winning shoe Succession. This week, the show ended its five-season great run. I have talked about how good this show has been. Succession came out as a great surprise amidst the audience after Game of Thrones ended on HBO. The show focuses on the Roy family and, their media conglomerate. If you’re on the internet, it was hard to miss the debates on the show every Monday morning on Twitter, or Redditt.

But, the great show has ended. And, fans want more.

And, if you haven’t seen the show, then it streams on JioCinema in India, with ₹999 annual subscription.

Apple’s Ted Lasso

The show captured critics’ eyes with its lively, and vulnerable writing. Ted Lasso follows the story of the happy-go-lucky coach of an English football team. There is a catch. He is from the US and has no understanding of football. While Ted Lasso as a character has a positive outlook, there are things in his personal life which give the character quite some layers.

The show was an instant hit among football fans. The three-season-long show streams on AppleTV+ with ₹99 per month subscription.

Prime’s The Marvelous Mrs Maisel

Midge’s husband is cheating on her with his secretary and wants a divorce. Her life is devasted, and after getting drunk, she ‘kills’ on the stage. That is to say, he performs a standup, ranting about her husband and she is great. Her life changes from that point. The show explores the Jewish community in the US, in 1958, and thereafter. Through Midge Maisel’s character, we are also given an insight into the misogyny, and sexism of society in those times.

The writing of the last season felt different from other seasons, in terms of structure. At the same time, the show remained true to the aesthetics of the previous seasons.

The show is streaming on Amazon Prime for a ₹999 annual subscription.
