A strong weather system has developed over Madhya Pradesh. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain alert for 16 districts. These include areas in Bhopal, Gwalior-Chambal division, Narmadapuram, and Rewa. Up to 4.5 inches of rain may fall in the next 24 hours.
Rainfall already affected more than 20 districts on Tuesday, including Bhopal, Shivpuri, and Ratlam. Ujjain received 2.1 inches of rain in 9 hours. Light to moderate rainfall was reported in many districts, which brought down day temperatures.
Two troughs are passing over the state. A cyclonic circulation system is also active. These weather patterns are causing widespread rain across Madhya Pradesh. Meteorologist Dr. Divya E. Surendran said that heavy rain may continue in many divisions for the next four days.

Rainfall was recorded in 18 districts on Tuesday. Satna received 1 inch of rain. Narmadapuram, Naugaon (Chhatarpur), and Malajkhand (Balaghat) recorded about half an inch. Other affected districts included Betul, Guna, Jabalpur, Damoh, Mandla, Sagar, Umaria, Sehore, and Agar-Malwa. Pachmarhi, the state’s only hill station, recorded the lowest temperature at 23.2°C.
In Shivpuri, the Bhadaiya Kund overflowed due to heavy rainfall. In Ratlam, rain continued throughout the morning, with fog in some parts. Light rain also continued in Bhopal.

This year, the monsoon reached India eight days early but stayed over Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh for 15 days. It entered Madhya Pradesh on 13–14 June, one day later than usual. Within five days, it covered all 55 districts in the state.
